Due to internal promotion we’re looking for someone with Buying experience to take on the day to day buying activity. Maintaining relationships with our long standing, trusted suppliers and take the purchasing reigns from the operations manager.
Our staff turnover is incredibly low, you’ll be reporting into the person who does this job right now so it’s an amazing opportunity for you to come into a role where everything is clear and if you’re unsure your questions will be answered quickly!
You don’t need specific buying experience from a particular industry, just a good knowledge of how supply chains function. We work in partnership with our suppliers so a good relationship builder is key, an excellent telephone manner and plenty of initiative. A good sense of humour is also needed, we’re a fun bunch and although we take work and getting the job done very seriously – we don’t take ourselves too seriously!
No two days are the same here. By the first opportunity you get to look at the clock it’ll be almost time to leave. The role is busy, really busy. Our customers come in and out and although we hold extensive stock a lot of it is ordered in for each individual order.
You could be on the phone 60 times a day, chasing suppliers for delivery dates, ensuring the order has been placed and is correct.
