Job Title: Escalator Service Engineer
Location: Durham
Salary: £43,000 per annum

As an Escalator Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, minor repairs, and component replacements on escalators in your assigned portfolio. You’ll also conduct safety inspections, address non-compliance issues, and improve equipment performance to reduce call-backs and downtime.
Key Responsibilities of the successful Escalator Engineer:
- Perform regular maintenance and servicing of escalator systems, including minor repairs and part replacements, following company procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve escalator breakdowns, ensuring they are returned to full working order efficiently.
- Complete routine inspections, adjustments, and testing of escalator systems, ensuring they meet company and industry standards.
- Use technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and fault-finding techniques to troubleshoot issues and restore escalators to service.
- Ensure all work is conducted following company health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as UK regulations.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and adhere to company safety guidelines.
Requirements of the successful Escalator Engineer:
- Proven experience in escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs is preferred.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in escalator maintenance is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, able to liaise with clients, supervisors, and inspectors.
- Full UK driving licence (not required for walking routes).
