Graduate Mechanical Engineer
Newcastle
£30,000 per annum
Due to our clients ambitious plans that they have for growth, we have an opportunity to for an intelligent, ambitious, and self-motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their team. From day one you will work on real projects that you will see through the design process and into production within the facility, giving you an excellent opportunity to understand the complete process of taking and an idea from start to finish.
Responsibilities of the successful Graduate Mechanical Engineer
As a Structural or Mechanical Engineering Graduate, your day-to-day role would involve, but would not be limited to, the following:
- Design and develop solutions to be used within the company’s product range, either through the New Product Development process or for client specific bespoke systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports and drawings, specifications, and other documents relating to the product.
- Following of the design process
- Estimation of time and resources required to complete assigned work.
- Delivery of project scope
- Engaging with clients and vendors so that the highest level of service is provided.
Qualifications and skills
- An undergraduate degree of at least 4 years duration in mechanical or structural engineering (MSc advantageous)
- A professional qualification or professional status (working towards)
- Excellent technical and design skills with strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills
- A positive and curious attitude towards innovative ways of working and commitment to independent, lifelong learning.
- Develop and implement innovative and new ways of working.
- Results-driven, resourceful, self-motivated, and willing to take responsibility.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an effective team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
