The Company:

A leading packaging company with a wide range of household clients with an ever-growing demand. We offer bespoke packaging solutions in the food industry and are currently acquiring a further 3 sites across the UK. Our site in Wakefield manufactures a wide range of solutions meaning a variety of machinery to be worked on and installation/changeover works when new demands come in.  This is a highly automated and clean room environment.

The main machines you will be working on are conveyors, flow wrappers, multi-head weighers, coders, pallet wrappers and more.

Most of the role is PPM with some reactive and plenty of project work.

Experience required:

Ideally, we would want you to have experience in a food environment or a similar FMCG background. We would also consider a maintenance engineer from other industries but training would have to be given to work with food.
 

• Experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer – Ideally on high-speed machinery but training can be given
• Have an electrical qualification equivalent to C&G/BTEC/NVQ – or cross-over course from mechanical
• Be able to read schematic drawings/electrical wiring diagrams, change sensors and general fault finding etc
• Mechanically sound – change bearings, straps, belts
• PLC experience isn’t needed for this role 

Key responsibilities:
 

• Carry out planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs
• Moving and re-installing machinery when needed
• Maintain effective working relationships with all departments
• Mentoring and training apprentice and single-skilled engineers

• Site continuous improvement projects
