The Opportunity:
We are looking for a mobile plant engineer/maintenance engineer who is keen on the freedom to manage workload by being the sole permanent engineer responsible for the mobile equipment across sites. This will also open up progression opportunities and would likely see you, managing contractors.
You will be maintaining, repairing and servicing a range of cranes (mainly Liebherr, some Volvos), FLTs/Forklift, Excavators, front end loaders, big industrial mobile plant machinery and more. It’s a heavy industrial environment where most of the work will be outside, you will have to be self-motivated to get your hands dirty quite often in the wet and cold.
This is a mobile role covering 4 sites in and around Southampton with a company van and fuel card provided. It is also an opportunity to join a world-leading, forward-thinking company that has a focus on sustainability.
To give you a better understanding of the environment, all sites also have static machinery which are maintained by a team of maintenance engineers – 2000 tonne shears, mobile cranes for material handling, screw conveyors, infeed conveyors, Separators, sortation machines, big industrial magnets and more.

Experience required:
- Mush have worked as a mobile plant engineer before or in a similar role
- Must be familiar with maintaining and repairing mobile plant – cranes, FLT’s, loaders, and other mobile plant machinery
- Ability to maintain, service and repair
- Show leadership qualities
- Must have worked in a heavy industrial environment
- NVQ/C&G Level 3 or above in relevant courses
